The Journey
At 35, John B. Johnson had just qualified for the Boston Marathon—fit, focused, and thriving—when he noticed blood in the toilet. He brushed it off as hemorrhoids, but two weeks after crossing the finish line, he was diagnosed with stage 2 colorectal cancer. Early detection and treatment saved his life, but the experience revealed a bigger problem: too many young people are dying from a preventable disease because of silence, shame, and delay. So John built a brand, launched a movement, and got off his butt. The Get Off My Butt Foundation breaks the stigma around butt health through bold campaigns, survivor stories, and a growing community that runs toward the conversations everyone else avoids. If you’re under 45, we’re especially talking to you because John’s story isn’t rare anymore. But with your help, it can be.

The Journey
This journey started with John B. Johnson: marathoner, Identity Architect, dad, and now, cancer butt-kicker. At 35, after qualifying for the Boston Marathon, he noticed blood in his stool. Assuming it was just hemorrhoids, he delayed a colonoscopy until after the race. Two weeks later, he was diagnosed with stage 2 colorectal cancer. Thanks to early detection and treatment, he's now cancer-free and training to run the Boston Marathon alongside his surgeon, Dr. David Rosen, to raise awareness for butt health.
